Why Rimba Labs
What you get from working with us — and what you don't have to put up with
Clear scope. Written agreements. No pressure to buy tools we benefit from. The advantages here aren't marketing positions — they're the conditions we've decided to work under.
← Back to HomeSix things that distinguish how we work
These aren't aspirational. They are the conditions built into every engagement from the first conversation.
Scope is written before work starts
The task, the measure of success, and the condition for stopping are all written down and agreed before any work begins. The document belongs to you, not us.
Transparent pricing, published openly
Pilot Scoping: RM 134. Lead Follow-Up Desk: RM 415/month. Ongoing Care: RM 628/month. These don't change after the first conversation, and there are no add-ons that appear later.
No long-term commitment required
Monthly services run month to month. You can stop at any quarterly review point. We don't use contracts that extend automatically or require notice periods measured in months.
A person, always
Follow-up messages are drafted and held. A member of your team reviews and sends. Nothing leaves your name on it without someone seeing it first. This is not an option — it's a condition of how the service works.
Measured against your own numbers
Success is defined in terms of figures you already track — enquiry response rate, conversion, reply time. We don't invent new dashboards. We work with what you already use to understand your business.
We recommend stopping when the case isn't there
At the quarterly review under Ongoing Care, we assess whether each running arrangement justifies its cost. If it doesn't, we say so — and we mean before you have to ask.
Relevant experience, not general consulting
We work specifically on AI integration for small and medium businesses — not digital transformation broadly, not strategy consulting, not platform sales. The people doing the work are the people who designed the engagement model, and they stay involved throughout.
Familiarity with the Malaysian small business context — supply chain timing, staff constraints, the rhythm of Raya and school holidays on customer behaviour — is part of what we bring.
- Three years working with Malaysian SMEs on AI arrangements
- Team members with operations background, not only technical roles
- Work conducted in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Based in Kuantan, available regionally and remotely
- Tool selection based on fit, not partnership arrangements
- Plain-language explanation of what each tool does and costs
- No upsell toward tools we have a margin on
- Quarterly cost-vs-use review included in Ongoing Care
Tools chosen for your situation, not ours
We don't have preferred vendors or platform partnerships that influence what we recommend. The tools we suggest for each arrangement are chosen because they fit the task and the budget, and we explain why in plain terms.
If a subscription you're already paying for can be used for something new, we'll say so rather than suggesting something else.
Responses measured in hours, not days
When you send a question or flag a problem, it goes to someone with decision-making authority, not to a support queue. Most queries are answered the same working day. For issues under Ongoing Care, the response time is the same morning or afternoon session.
Monthly notes arrive on a set date. Quarterly reviews are scheduled in advance. You know what to expect and when.
- Same-day response for operational queries
- Direct contact with the person handling your account
- Monthly notes on a fixed schedule
- Quarterly reviews booked in advance, not arranged on request
- Pilot Scoping at RM 134 — standalone, no further obligation
- No hidden setup fees or onboarding charges
- Pricing reviewed annually, not adjusted mid-arrangement
- Brief that can be used with any supplier, including competitors
Fixed prices, no add-ons, no lock-in
The price for each service is the price. There's no discovery phase that precedes a larger proposal, no platform fee added later, and no minimum term on the monthly services beyond the quarterly review cycle.
The Pilot Scoping produces a brief you own — meaning you could take it elsewhere. We prefer clients who stay because the arrangement is working, not because leaving is inconvenient.
How this differs from the usual approach
We're not the only option for AI support in Malaysia. Here's an honest comparison with what's typically on offer.
What makes this arrangement different
Three things we do that are genuinely uncommon in this field.
The stop condition is written first
Before we start anything, we write down what would make us recommend abandoning the arrangement. This isn't a formality — it's the commitment that keeps the advice honest.
The pilot brief is yours to keep
After a Pilot Scoping, you receive a written brief that you can hand to any supplier. There's no proprietary format that locks you in. Some clients take the brief elsewhere. That's fine.
Subscription costs reviewed against use
Under Ongoing Care, we track what each tool subscription costs and what it actually contributes. If a subscription isn't earning its place, we say so at the quarterly review before you have to ask.
